ridley road market

Primary research for my Experience 
City project. For this project I am
aiming to create a product or system 
which aids the experience of people 
in Urban Areas. I wanted to focus in 
on 'shopping' as a subtopic. One of
the most authentic markets I know in 
East London is Ridley Road Market in 
Dalston. Thanks to the sizeable West 
African population in the area, this
market is bustling, vibrant and very
unlike any market I have been to, 
with fresh and colourful fruits,
unique spices/herbs, strange fish,
vibrant + trendy clothes and plenty
more. A fantastic experience! After
visiting, I was inspired to develop 
a system that promotes unique/exotic
food shops and market stalls (like the
ones I encountered on my visit) as I
feel they are criminally underutilised
by the people of London.
