A N A L Y S I S

On the left are some sketches I tried to draw in Frank Gehry's style. The sketch furthest on the left is originally from a photo of a building I took in South London. In the drawing I greatly exagerrated the buildings dimensions as well as giving it a more strict cubic form, adding block like extensions from the front. Overall I believe this more 'structured' style veers away from the curves and fluidity which give Gehry's sketches so much appeal.

The middle sketch is a completely hypothetical design consisting of both curved and cubical shapes. Of the three, this sketch's style is the most alike to Frank Gehry's, as compared to the other two, the lines are looser and the sketch largely lacks the heavy crosshatching (to emphasise depth in tone) that the other two have. Out of the three this was also the quickest to draw and the shape is the most clear. The sketch on the right differs the most from Gehry's style, being made up of mostly straight lines. For a potential idea later in the week, I may use Frank Gehry's style to visualise it, mostly thanks to its aesthetic appeal.
